Tokyo Sesame Place in 2012

Kids could sit on a mechanical earth mover and move small amounts of dirt.

Tokyo: Rainbow Pyramid
Rainbow Pyramid was a play area at Tokyo Sesame Place. It was the same as the Rainbow Pyramids in Texas and Pennsylvania.
Guests would toss a ball at a pyramid that had jets of air coming out of it.
Air rushing over top of the spinning ball would move faster than the air below keeping the ball suspended.

At the top of the Tokyo Sesame Place escalator you would be at the Big Bird head. You could continue through Big Bird's mouth up to Barkley's Walkway (a narrow observation deck) or you could stay at Sesame Square which would give you access to the rest of the attractions.
Sesame Square had the round sign similar to the signs Milton Glaser designed for Sesame Place in Langhorne, PA.

Many pictures make it look like the Big Bird head was directly in front of the escalator, but it was a dozen or so feet back, as you can see in this picture:

Tokyo: Barkley's Walkway
After arriving at Tokyo Sesame Place you would ride up Japan's largest escalator.
You could continue up through Big Birds mouth to Barkley's Walkway or walk to Sesame Square.

Spelling Tokyo Sesame Place in Japanese
Tokyo Sesame Place was referred to on most signage as "Tokyo Sesame Place" which is a difference from Sesame Place in Langhorne, PA and Irving, Texas. Both of the US parks were just referred to as Sesame Place.
The spelling would be typed as:

Tokyo Sesame Place was located in the city of Akiruno which is a city within Tokyo Metropolis.
