Sesame Beach

Sesame Beach was a beach themed play area at Sesame Place in the early days of the park.

The area featured large yellow letters (both an A and a Z), some play equipment and sand.

In an adjoining play area (that may have been considered part of Sesame Beach) there was a very small version of the ball pit and a climb on train.

Today Grover's World Twirl occupies this space.

There is another beach area in the park, Sand Castle Beach, which opened with Sesame Island in the early 1990s.

Sesame Beach Spinning Teacup

Here is an undated image of a piece of playground equipment at Sesame Beach. This is a pretty common playground "spinning teacup":

Interestingly, this area of the park is now home to Grover's World Twirl, a full scale spinning teacup attraction.

I think this was the only teacup at Sesame Beach, I think you can see it next to the yellow "Z" on the left hand side of the image below:

Also of note in this picture is that you can see Ernie's Bed Bounce in the distance and The Circle Theater in it's 1988 color scheme.
