Expansion Musings Part 2: A Pedestrian Bridge

One of the things I think is sorely lacking at Sesame Place is a pedestrian bridge from the main parking lot to the park entrance.

The parking lot is just a short distance from the park. Unfortunately, it's accessed by crossing a road full of cars going to (and from) the nearby mall and Sesame Place itself.

The lack of a pedestrian bridge means that traffic backs up, people walk against the signal, cars run the light and there's a general uneasiness as parents hold strollers on the curb.

The whole experience could be improved with a bridge.

I am sure a bridge like this costs a TON of money, but it's a safety and comfort thing for the guests and would ease the traffic flow for all the nearby stores.

Perhaps the bridge could be sponsored. Maybe a big "Chik-Fil-A" billboard could be attached to it to pay for it.

It doesn't have to be simple ordinary bridge, either.

There have been many gloriously styled bridges built over the years:

The design I would suggest, however, is this one:

  1. I couldn't agree more about that last suggestion, and they have at least two Big Bird heads lying around if they were smart enough to save the PA original and the one from Texas! One for each connecting end!
